The below post is one that I was in the process of writing about yet another “celebrity” announcing that they are no longer vegan and have jumped on the carnivore diet.
It was during the research for the article that I discovered that Ms Hipwell was never actually vegan.
They were vegetarian
I eat intuitively , I’ve gone from being a vegetarian , then pescatarian to now almost being on a carnivore type diet! Lots of red meat, eggs , and some fish, I still eat heaps of vegetables too though (mainly cooked) I’ve put on 6 kilos in 18 months since being on this diet but mainly muscle
I have decided to include the article, as I wrote it, ending when I discovered the above.
Lesson to be learned from this.
Don’t trust the corrupt corporate media.
In what would be a hardly surprising move, yet another instafamous “celebrity” has declared that they are no longer vegan, and are adopting the carnivore diet.
Adding that they have never felt better.
This time around it is Krystal Hipwell.
To be honest, I did have to look up what her claim to fame was.
If you are interested, it was due to her stint on Big Brother in 2006.
Hardly Surprising
To be honest, I am hardly surprised by this.
There seems to be a growing tide of influencers who are jumping on the Carnivore Diet bandwagon as the be all and end all of dieting.
If you cast your mind back a few weeks ago, Jenny McCarthy did the very same thing.
A cynical person might start to think that maybe there is a behind the scenes marketing campaign going on.
Whether there is or there isn’t remains to be seen, and only time will tell.
What all this does do is lead the question being asked.
Were They Ever Vegan?
I know it might seem like a broken record here, though I do think it needs to be said.
Veganism is about more than the ingredients on your plate.
It is about abstaining from all animal (by)products where possible and practicable.
Did Ms Hipwell avoid all the shampoos, conditioners, etc that contain an animal based ingredient, or was her diet only plant based?
Who knows.
And to tell you the truth, I don’t really care.
I am trying to figure out how someone, if they genuinely were vegan, could decide that the consumption of animal products is now ok.
Fitness Justification
Using the justification that the shift to the carnivore diet has allowed them to put on a few extra kgs is cop out.
I was told years ago, the excuse doens’t matter as long as it holds water.
And, in this case it doesn’t.
